REGULATORY BACKGROUND:

The Revolution operates under a licence from Ofcom which, as media regulator, enforces the Communications Act (2003). One of the key requirements of all commercial broadcasters is that programmes are not distorted for commercial purposes and broadcasters maintain editorial independence. The Ofcom Code requires the advertising and programme elements of a service to be clearly separated.

A TOTALLY NEW CONCEPT TO BRITISH RADIO:

'Business Profile' is an unashamedly commercial element but it is produced in a manner that makes it sound like a part of the radio station’s programming. Each 'Business Profile' is 90 seconds long and is broadcast at 08:15 – where radio traditionally reaches the biggest audience of the day. Steve Penk will talk to you or your nominated representative about:

· Your business and what gives you the edge over your competitors;

· Any plans for development – including new products or services;

· Offers, sales, promotions, etc.

HOW IT WORKS:

You will arrive at the radio station where our Station Director will welcome you into the Boardroom. Over coffee and light refreshments we will discuss your objectives and plan the interview. Once a loose framework has been agreed Steve Penk will join the meeting for an informal 'rehearsal'. Then Steve will accompany you to our production studio where the interview will be recorded and edited ready for transmission.
