Elliot Eastwick
There you are!
Where to start?
"I was born in 19"... nah
"I first discovered a love of radio when" ...No, that sounds too cheesy
*clears throat
"A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, there lived a man, a very very bald, slightly annoying man. A man who claimed to be the Pub Quiz King yet knew NO answers when questioned by Steve Penk.
Seriously - I'm thrilled to be here at The Revolution doing Drive Time. The new broader playlist has furthered my thirst for great music new and old. I remember being handed a 7 inch of The Kingsmen 'Louie Louie' at 8 years old and playing it over and over and over.
Jump forward a few years and I'm cueing up in Woolies for a copy of the Adam And The Ants album (which I wore out!)
A few months later and I was suspended from school for going dressed in full Adam Ant costume including make up.
I should have known I end up working in broadcasting after my end of school report said
"Elliot appears more than adept in the art of showing off"
I started working in music the day I left school. It was 1988, and the 'Acid House Explosion' was in full swing. I wanted to be a dj. I HAD to be a dj.
I got my break djing at the infamous Hacienda Club in Manchester, and was soon travelling the world playing in such far flung places as Iceland, Africa, New Zealand, and Hull.
Jump forward to 1997 and I was awarded 'Remixer Of The Year' after working with the likes of The Pet Shop Boys, Underworld, and Roisin Murphy. I then set up a record label and recording studios (all in Manchester)
By the late 90's hanging around in nightclubs till 5am every night was a getting a little much*
and I turned my hand back to broadcasting by way of preenting for radio and television, including ITV's 'This Is Music' a show which showcased up and comnig North West musical talent.
and here I am! loving every minute of it (3-7pm) and loving you lot getting in touch and discussing the important issues of the day (Madonna's fishnets etc)
So join me on drive between 3 and 7 every day, for music news, all the traffic and travel news, my 'Record Of The Week', inane banter, opinionated guff, and general bobbins.
AND see if you can outwit me (not hard) on THE BIG QUESTION every day and win yourself a grubby mitfull of cds.
Toodle - pip, see you at 3!
