Jay's Q & A - Ask a Question...

We managed to get Jay to sit down for 5 minutes and answer the questions you wanted the answers to!

If you have a question for Jay which isn't included here, feel free to fill out the form at the bottom of this page and we'll get him to post his answer here as soon as possible.

Full name?
Jay McCreary.

Show?
Evening Show (Weekdays 7pm-10pm).

Birthday?
Dec 13th.

Starsign?
Sagittarius.

Last album you bought?
An Eagles album for my dad.

If you entered the X Factor, what would you sing in the audition?
Jilted John - Gordon Is A Moron, or Was Not Was - Hi Dad, I'm in Jail.

If you weren't on the radio, what job would you do?
Probably something else.

What does the last text message you received say?
"I think there's something wrong with you, you need help.  I didn't even know what that word meant until I met you."

How did you end up working for Steve Penk at 96.2 The Revolution?
This story can be found in my "Then and Now" bit.  Readers digest version: Having worked at The Rev since we launched back in 1999 (and previous trial broadcasts as Oldham FM), I left in 2005.  Then, when Penky decided to spend his retirement fund on 96.2 The Revolution, I just knew I needed to return!  A few phone calls and handshakes later, you can now catch me Monday to Friday from 7pm.

Favourite place to eat or drink in the area?
Franky and Benny's!  (and no, sadly I'm NOT receiving freebies to say that.)

Best/worst gift from a listener?
BEST: A bottle of vodka from John in Castlefield!
WORST: A free pen from some car showroom and a 3 packets of Halls Soothers.

Most expensive thing you've ever bought?
A car - the purchase that just keeps on costing...

Most pointless thing you've ever bought?
A copy of "Steve Penk and the Polkadots - Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini" off eBay, purely just for a laugh!  What a shame we don't have record players in the studio anymore.

What's in your pocket?
57p, fluff, and receipts.

What's the best gig you've ever been to?
Kylie.

There's one seat left at the dinner table, who do you invite?
Scrooge.

Fave pizza topping?
Pepperoni!  (Add a sprinkle of bacon and extra cheese for good measure.)

Do you like answering these questions?
Kills a bit of time, doesn't it.

Pet hates?
Morons.

Ideal girl?
The one I've got.

Tut, ok then, ideal CELEBRITY girl?
Gillian Anderson, or Kylie.

When you were little, you used to...?
Own a peashooter and fire it at people from an open window on the top deck of buses.

Fave cartoon as a kid?
Danger Mouse!

Fave comedians?
Billy Connolly, Eddie Izzard and Ricky Gervais.  Michael McKintyre is making a good name for himself these days too, and that inappropriate Scottish bloke off Mock The Week, who's name escapes me for the moment...

If you had to pick only one favourite film, what would it be?
Pump Up The Volume - starring Christian Slater and Samantha Mathis.  Fantastic film about a school kid who is quiet and shy by day, and is an evening shock jock on his own pirate radio station by night.

If you were stuck on a deserted island, what 3 things would you want to have with you?
- A generator
- some fuel (for the generator of course)
- and a laptop with a wi-fi connection.
Even if the wi-fi didn't work, at least I'd be able to play Solitaire and Minesweeper.

Song you would have played at your funeral?
Lutricia McNeal - Aint That Just The Way, if for no other reason than to annoy everyone who liked to think they knew me.  Just for one final cheeky dig at those who cared.  Listen to the lyrics, you'll understand.

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?
Exchange it for British money, invest it in property and charge the Earth for people to live there.

What makes you laugh?
Hypocrites, and cats falling off things.

Most likely to say?
"I'm skint."

Least likely to say?
"I get paid too much."

What do you enjoy most about your job at 96.2 The Revolution?
Getting YOU involved on-air and having a laugh.  It's also fun when you find out callers are sometimes listening online from abroad!  Could this truely be the best radio station on Planet Earth if people around the globe are tuning in?

Fave radio station?
96.2 The Penkylution!
